20 days until christmas!

For the first time ever, I wrote a letter to Santa. Did anyone write letters to Santa when they were younger? Apparently Canada Post has been doing this for 30 years now!

Dear Santa,

My name is Stephanie, and I am 19 years old but this is the first letter I have ever written to you.

I want to thank you for the joy you give to children on Christmas morning. The presents you give may be temporary and fleeting, but the Christmas morning feeling is a feeling that lasts for a very long time.

This Christmas, I am not asking for a Barbie, a CD/mp3 player, toys, games or anything I else I may have asked for in the past, but instead I ask that you continue to spread the joy and cheer that you are so good at spreading. I ask that this feeling will remain with everyone for a long time and that it transcends all ages. I hope that people take this feeling and pass it along, spreading it even further.

Thank you for your hard work, and I wish you a safe trip, come Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas!

Love,
Stephanie

I imagine this would be such a fun initiative to do with kids. They could learn how to write letters, which I have learned is a skill many people lack. I had to write a letter to a politician for one of my classes this semester, I thought it was fun, and pretty easy too. But I overheard so many people struggling with the structure of a letter, and the formatting of a letter. I was very shocked! I learned how to write a letter at a young age, and I have never forgotten. It makes me sad that it is turning into an uncommon skill.

Snail mail is fun :)
