harry potter 7, part 2

No spoilers in this post, I promise.

This is the last movie premiere I will attend in my life, I'm thinking. I'm not big on movies, and I'm not even that big of a Harry Potter movie fan (the books are waaay better, just saying). But the HP fans at these premieres make me really happy. All sorts of cool costumes, and items, and activities are present. While we were waiting for the movie to start, a group of people re-enacted the harry potter puppet pals mysterious ticking noise, there was a quaffle being thrown around, some duels staged, etc. There were all sorts of very Harry Potter-esque activities.

My friends and I also dressed up in some really awesome costumes including death eaters, centaur, Mad Eye Moody.. and I was Bellatrix! Check out my sweet dark mark (imagine it is slithering):

Some tips for painting: Use the back of the brush for thinner lines. Even though I used a really thin brush the first time (image on the left), it didn't turn out too well.

Anywho, I didn't actually enjoy the HP movie as much as a lot of other people did. It was still good and worth seeing, but doesn't really do the books justice. I also thought it was really hard to watch because it really is not a stand-alone movie, in any way. It jumped in too quickly (because it is the second half of the movie), and didn't give enough time to bond with the characters or anything. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend watching the first half before you watch the second half.

Anyway, I had fun! But intend on re-reading the HP series (or maybe just the last book) so I can look back on the whole series and think good things, instead of my mediocre thoughts on the movie.

I've got lotsa reading ahead! I have a new Emily Giffin book to read, The Time Traveler's Wife, Unbearable Lightness and some other books from the library as well.
